Since Mr. Klein encourages me to give more details... After negotiations between the real estate agent, the sellers and myself, we reached a verbal agreement at 272kE for a property. After several reminders, the real estate agent sent me the written offer, to be countersigned, on May 24. I sent it back on the morning of the 25th. Without news, I contacted the agent on the 30th, who told me to have an appointment the next day to have it signed by the sellers... who, apparently, went back on their agreement, and offered me 275 (with a " possible discount of 1k taken from agency fees).
Is it normal to wait 11 days to get an offer counter-signed?
For my part, a salesman for over 30 years, when I have a verbal agreement, I go ahead and validate all the conditions.
And, for your information, the x announced by Samuel yesterday is not beyond my financing capabilities. It's just, in my eyes, a lack of honesty.
